WELCOME
Welcome to Detroit – the manufacturing mecca of the world before, during, and since the Industrial Age. It’s gone through hell and back a few times, but the long-settled SPIRIT of creativity, ingenuity, innovation and blue-collar ethics continues to thrive here.

Detroit is our home, and we are thrilled to have you visit!

LODGING
Hotel names link to websites:

Trumbull & Porter Hotel
This chic industrial hotel is about 3 miles from our location (closest) and has secure parking. It is located in Corktown, one of Detroit’s oldest neighborhoods. $120-$160 per night

Holiday Inn Express Allen Park
This hotel is roughly 12 miles from our shop and only a 10-minute drive via I-94. $100-140 per night.

DOWNTOWN OPTIONS:
There are GREAT hotels downtown Detroit – only 2 miles from our welding shop, but please note parking is extra ($30-40 per night), and some offer valet parking only.
If you plan on exploring our fabulous downtown, we do recommend:

The Westin Book Cadillac
We have stayed here and recommend it. Easy, secure, self-parking garage behind the hotel. Walkable location to many great places downtown.

The Detroit Foundation Hotel
Recipient of multiple hospitality awards in a beautifully renovated former Detroit Fire Department warehouse. We have enjoyed dining in the Apparatus Room restaurant onsite. Parking garages nearby or valet available.

Aloft Detroit at The David Whitney
Great downtown location at the corner of Woodward Avenue and Park Ave. Parking garages nearby or valet available.

Shinola Hotel
We have stayed here ourselves and LOVE it! Detroit’s Shinola Hotel special place with great dining and bar options, as well as shopping, located in the hotel and on the same block. (We’d also recommend checking out the Shinola Flagship Store in Midtown!) Valet only, but parking in Z Parking Garage also a great (and awesome to see) nearby option.

DINING
Detroit has a FANTASTIC dining scene! I have organized our favorites in a few ways.
