Hi. I appreciate this is an old video but I’m interested in whether silicone bronze would be strong enough for a project I’m working on. I’m making a flywheel which weighs 500g and will see 10000rpm and basically requires two steel pieces (unknown alloys) joining together. However my attempts at welding it so far have resulted in hot cracking. I’m now wondering if silicone bronze brazing would be an alternative but I’m concerned about strength. Obviously I’m not expecting you to vouch for anything just your thoughts on the matter.
